This Privacy Policy describes how KeyJaan! (“the app”, “we”) handles information when you use the app on iPhone, iPad, or Mac. KeyJaan! is designed so that it does not need your data — and therefore does not collect it.
1. Data We Collect
None. KeyJaan! does not collect, store on external servers, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. The app contains no analytics or advertising SDKs, requires no account or registration, and makes no network calls of its own.
2. What Happens On Your Device
To work as a music game, KeyJaan! processes the following information — always and only locally, on your device:
- Audio files you choose. When you select a song from your music library or a file, the app analyzes it on-device (tempo, beats, bars, and chords) using built-in machine-learning models. A local copy of the audio may be kept inside the app’s private storage so the song remains playable; it is deleted when you remove the song or the app.
- MIDI input. Notes from a connected MIDI keyboard are processed in real time for gameplay and are not recorded or transmitted.
- Microphone audio (optional). If you enable the experimental microphone input mode, sound is analyzed in real time to detect notes and chords. Audio is never recorded, saved, or transmitted. The microphone is used only while this mode is on, and the app asks for permission before first use.
- Gameplay records. Scores, ranks, achievements, streaks, and settings are stored locally on your device (and only there). Deleting the app deletes them.
3. Permissions the App Requests
- Media Library — to list and load songs you choose for analysis and play-along.
- Microphone — only if you turn on the optional microphone input mode.
- Files/Folders — only for folders or audio files you explicitly select or grant access to.
- Automation of the Music app (Mac only) — used solely to ask the Music app to download a cloud track you selected that has no local file yet, so it can be analyzed on-device. Nothing else is automated.
Each permission is requested only when the corresponding feature is used, and the app works without any of them if you play the bundled demo songs.
4. Purchases
The optional one-time purchase “KeyJaan Pro” is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details. Purchase entitlement is verified on-device via Apple’s StoreKit. For Apple’s handling of purchase data, see Apple’s Privacy Policy.
5. Third Parties
KeyJaan! integrates no third-party analytics, advertising, or social SDKs. No data is shared with third parties, because no data is collected in the first place.
6. Children’s Privacy
KeyJaan! is suitable for all ages (rated 4+). Because the app collects no data from anyone, it also collects no data from children.
7. Your Songs and Copyright
The app analyzes only audio you already own or have on your device, for your personal play-along use. Analysis results (chords, beats) are stored locally alongside your library entry and are never uploaded anywhere.
8. Changes to This Policy
If we ever change how the app handles information — for example, if a future version adds an online feature — we will update this policy before the change takes effect and note the new effective date above. Material changes will also be described in the App Store release notes.
